What is the difference in weight between the heavy weight and light weight clever? Does anyone have both and prefer one over the other and for what reason? Thank-you in advance.

Heavy would be good for going through bones - this knife blade is thick enough it doesn't make straight cuts through things like potatoes. For regular kitchen cutting I much prefer a thinner blade. I would compare this to my cleaver that we chop of chickens heads - sorry I live on a farm. It is the thickness of the blade that is the problem not the weight. This cleaver is not a bad weight.
